Garland Business Ethics Promote Excellence?

Date:

Dear:

The Garland Rotary Club will be interviewing businesses about their approach to ethics!

Why is a Service Club doing an Ethics “Audit”?

Rotary clubs have been in the Garland since 1927 (80 years).  High ethical standards have been promoted in business since its earliest days. In 1943 the “Four-Way Test” was adopted as a way to express this professional business life commitment of Rotary Club Members.  As a service organization, we want to help our community’s businesses with their ethics needs. To do this, we first need to know what the realities are in your business.

Our goal for this research is to understand what ethics approaches are being used in the Garland business community.  We anticipate we will need only 15 to 30 minutes of your time.

Our plan is to have two or more Rotary Club members come to your place of business and talk with you about your company’s approach to business ethics.  Some initial questions we plan to ask are:

Ø      How do you convey your own business ethics position to your employees?

Ø      What supporting evidence is present in your company that shows your ethics philosophy?

Ø      What evidence do you have about what your customers think about your business ethics?

Your assistance with this research is appreciated.  Your help is needed to set up a date and time for the visit with our Rotary Members.  We will be glad to share our audit results when we are finished.  All specific information we gather will be kept as confidential as you would like.  We do hope to find good business ethics examples in our community that we can recognize for the positive impact they are having in Garland.

If you are not familiar with Rotary, please see the brochures about Rotary and the Four-Way Test.

We look forward to visiting with you soon,
